April showers have come and gone and now the beautiful May flowers are here. May has brought the first official parade for Nur at Dover Days, which was also the Potentate’s birthday. This was followed the next weekend with the Potentate’s Ball. The ball was a blast and we had a wonderful time. In fact, the entire weekend was great! Thank you to the ball committee….Love You, Mean It! And thank you to those of you who shared the weekend’s events with us. I want to again, thank the ladies of Nur Shrine for making two of my dreams come true. Our first round of bags are ready for the hospital and babysitting was provided at the Potentate’s Ball for our young families of Nur. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! It means so much to me that we have accomplished these things in such a short time. It is my hope as we take time to “stop and smell the roses” of success, that we stay committed to continuing our commitment to these two endeavors as we move forward. May is not just a time for flowers, but also a time to remember those who serve/served in our Armed Forces and who have given the ultimate sacrifice so that you and I can have the freedoms that we enjoy each day. To the members of our Legion of Honor and those who have served or are currently serving: Thank You for your service to Our country. As this month continues, please join us for a variety of Memorial Day parades and activities. Don’t forget to sign up for the monthly Divan dinners held in Our Duck Blind the third Wednesday of the month. May features the theme: Italian Bistro Night. The cost is $10.00 per person and $5.00 for children 12 and younger. Ladies of Nur Shrine, please remember to join us at our monthly Ladies Divan meeting.
